Theme of thE week:
saturday March 1
“How sweet it is to be loved (by yourself)”
The Yamas and Niyamas are a set of ten ethical principles or codes in the tradition of the eight limbed path (Ashtanga Yoga). These codes allow us to be at peace with ourselves, family and community. “Rather than a list of do’s and don’t they tell us that our fundamental nature is compassionate, generous, honest and peaceful.”
This week we’re talking the principle: “Ahimsa” compassion for all living things.
To hold this compassion we first understand the underlying unity of all living things. See the sacred innocent spirit that lies inside of us and also lies every living thing. At the center of all spirit is some need for sweet soft lovin’.
“Just for today I will be compassionate toward myself, I will honor my efforts and I compliment myself when I look into the mirror.” This attitude spills out quickly to others and all of nature in earthly form.
